The timer stops. You have a score, a few questions you felt good about, and perhaps one you would answer differently now. Before starting another test, give yourself a short review. The most useful thing to leave with is a specific answer to this question: what will I do differently next time?
Begin with one question
Open “Show explanations” in your Scolavo score report and choose a question you missed. Read the question again before looking at the explanation. What was it asking you to find? What made your original answer seem right?
Now compare your reasoning with the explanation. You might discover an unfamiliar idea, a missed detail in a passage, or a calculation that went off course. Write a short note that names the exact step: “I compared the percentages without checking what each percentage was of.” That gives your next practice session something concrete to work on.
Use “All questions” to revisit answers you guessed correctly, too. A correct choice can still leave you with a question worth exploring. Try explaining why it works and why a tempting alternative does not.
Look for a pattern, then choose one focus
The “Strengths & focus areas” section groups your answers by skill. Look at the number of questions as well as the number correct: one difficult question gives you a different amount of evidence from several attempts at the same kind of problem.
The report’s “Your next moves” suggestions can help you choose a starting point. They use the questions in your attempt to highlight areas that contributed to missed points. Treat them as a guide to where you could spend some attention. Scolavo’s practice score is an estimate, and a single attempt cannot tell you everything about a skill.
Go back to the idea underneath
Where a related lesson is available, follow the “Relearn” link. If equivalent fractions caused the difficulty, for example, pause on what makes two fractions equal before trying another calculation. Draw the quantities or explain the relationship aloud. Then return to your original question and work through it again with the explanation covered.
If you can now solve that question, try another example when you next practise. Notice whether you can choose the method yourself when the numbers or wording change. Keep your note nearby so you know what you are checking.
Leave yourself a small next step
Finish the review with a sentence you can act on: “Next time, I’ll practise identifying the whole in percentage questions.” It is a manageable place to begin, and it makes the connection between today’s test and tomorrow’s work visible.
After working through your answers, you can mark the review complete. If you want to share the milestone, the score report lets you make a card for completing a test or reviewing your answers. Including your practice score is optional. Taking the time to understand an answer is progress worth recognising, too.
